About the Workshop

This collaborative Kumihimo Key Chain Making workshop is brought to you by VA Studio in collaboration with DoES Liverpool.

The workshop is led by Vicki Opomu of VA Studio, a local multidisciplinary artist and designer based at Aspen Yard Studios, and Jackie Pease, Director of DoES Liverpool.

Vicki brings years of experience in illustration, printmaking, art, jewellery design and manufacturing. She regularly delivers creative workshops at Cass Art and other venues, sharing her knowledge, passion and expertise with participants of all skill levels.

Together, VA Studio and DoES Liverpool are bringing this hands-on session to Cass Art, combining creative making, craft skills and community collaboration.

Kumihimo Key Chain Making

Create your own colourful and unique Kumihimo key chain to hang from your bag! In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Kumihimo braiding using vibrant and plain-coloured cords, along with a selection of beads, charms and decorative materials to personalise your design.

You’ll be guided step by step to create an eye-catching key chain that is practical, unique and easy to spot in your handbag. Experiment with colour, texture and embellishments while learning a new craft skill.

Ideal for beginners — no previous experience is necessary.

This workshop is brought to you by VA Studio and DoES Makerspace.
